projects are ready projects of LOSAUK for the year 2007 to 2011
LOSAUK presently works with these following
beneficiaries of the given projects and for the further expansion, the
organization looks for donors:
1.
Human rights based approaches to resolution of minority rights
discrimination of the eunuch community (hijra) in greater Khulna.
Location of the project:
31 wards of Khulna city
corporation, its outskirts as well as two district towns named Satkhira
& Bagerhat.
Goal of the
Project:
Sensitize the rights
of hijras (eunuch) community considering a social being in the society and
the state as well as provide them with an alternative earning
source.
Duration of the project:
2007 to 2010.
Total Project Cost: BDT 50,00,000.00
equivalent USD 76923.00
2.
Promote a supportive and enabling environment with creative
education to prevent the spread of HIV/AID and STD among adolescent &
youth.
Goal of the project:
All target people have the
power, skill, knowledge and resources to protect them from HIV infection.
Target groups:
Adolescents and youths.
Objectives :

Promote a supportive and enabling environment to those community
groups
·
Change the attitude of people towards discrimination and
stigmatization associated with HIV/AIDS and STD.
Duration of the
Project : 3 years from
2007 to 2010
Target areas :
Khulna & Satkhira
districts, number of upazila: 6, number of union : 90 of six upazila and
30 wards of Khulna City Corporation.
Total cost of the
project : BDT 49,27,800.00 equivalent USD 75,812.30
3.
Protect the rights of indigenous jatra artistes and their means of
livelihood.
Goal of the project:
Establish & restore the rights of jatra artistes and original form
of jatra.
Target groups :
Owner of the private and
professional jatra troupe, amateur and professional jatra artistes, key
actors, elite of the society.
Location of the project
: Khulna district.
Cost of the project:
BDT 25,44,135.00 equivalent USD 39,752.10
4.
Behavioral change for environmental protection of wetland (beel)
through use of indigenous culture and participatory theatrical form.
Goal: Protection of
beel edge habitats.
Time Frame : 3
years from 2007 to 2010
Objective of the
project :
a.
Protect the beel edge vegetation and habitats
b.
Prevent further reclamation of natural habitats for conservation
and proper use.
c.
Restore the legal rights of the local community.
Target groups :
Local community people
near to the target beel areas who live under poverty lines, local elite,
human rights educators and activists as well as civil society members.
Target areas: 4
beel areas of Batiaghata and Dumuria police station.

5.
Child laborer fights against worst form of child labor for child
rights.
Target groups:
Underprivileged and
migrated slum working children (both sex), their parents and employers.
Location of the project
: 31 wards of Khulna City Corporation
Project goal :
Protect the rights of underprivileged children up to the age of 14.
Project objectives:

Identify the actual risk oriented worst form child worker
for the children under the age of 9-14 in Khulna City Corporation.

Integrate the rescued children
·
Transform the attitude of the societal people
